PURPOSE:To secure such a feeder that is simple in constitution and easy in control, by controlling contact and separation motion between the feeder and a sheet material at an uppermost surface with a spring clutch device. CONSTITUTION:In this clutch spring 65, one end is hitched on a stop ring 66 and the other end on a clutch drum 64, respectively, and with repetition of clutch operations, a relative relationship between projections 661 and 662 of the stop ring 66 and a cam 59 is designed so as to be shifted. Eventually, a suction release state of a solenoid 67 always corresponds to the projection 661 while a suction state always corresponds to the projection 662 so that a rotation start reference position of the cam 59 is easily settable by what the solenoid 67 comes off. Thus, if the cam 59 is made so as to be temporarily stopped in the midway, the time being pressed down is controllable by suction time of the solenoid 67 so that it is useful as the degree of freedom in a design is increased.
