PURPOSE:To prevent possible rust and early deterioration in oil checking water from building up in the oil by discriminating a liquid in a drain tank connected to the oil separator of a compressor with an optical means. CONSTITUTION:Steam in the air to be sucked into an oil-cooled type compressor 1 via a suction tube 5 is cooled together with a compressed air with an oil to form dew, becoming a drain. The drain is introduced into an oil tank 2A of an oil separator 2 together oil and then, fed to a drain tank 4 connected to the separator 2. The drain is discriminated between oil and water based on a diffractive index by way of a luminous body 11, a condensor lens 20 and a condensor lens 13 or 14. If it is water, a valve 15 is opened to discharge the drain. This can prevent possible rust and early deterioration in the cooling oil or the like checking water from building up in the oil. |
