PURPOSE:To make a lot of articles classificable in an accurate manner, by feeding an article feeder with the sorted articles after each classifying mark of these sorted articles is read by a mark reader, and feeding them to the succeeding reader in consecutive order automatically by a signal out of the reader. CONSTITUTION:After a classified mark B of an article A is read by a mark reader 1, the article A is hooked on a feeder 2, conveyed and transferred onto a transfer device 3. And, a slide mechanism 4 is set in operation from a controller 9 with a mark reading signal, and the transfer device 3 transfers the article, discharged on article holding parts 51a-51m where a sorting member 51 of an article delivery device 5 is to be sorted, thus the article is held hereat. And, after movement, it is received at the side of a distributor 6, and delivered to either one sorting part of the specified article sorting parts 10a-10m set up as conformed to the top of a sorting line in the midway to be transferred, thus the article is sorted. Thus, the sorted article A is delivered in succession to each of the specified article sorting part, and automatic classification is accurately performed.
