A fiber material used for feathers is manufactured by using synthetic fibers, such as polyester, nylon, or poly-acrylonitrile. Polyester is most preferred owing to its high Young's modulus. In the produced fiber material, looped fiber filaments are focused on a single point and fixed. The looped fiber filaments are composed of other filament units that are of different lengths, whose surfaces are either roll-treated, with a smoothing agent attached, or not.
