PURPOSE:To prevent the operation of a sound image compensation display circuit at the monaural receiving, by detecting whether or not the stereo is being received and providing a sound image compensation operating except the period of stereo receiving. CONSTITUTION:When the mode is changed over into the AM or the monaural mode at a changeover switch 5, a voltage +B is applied to a stereo demodulating switching oscillation circuit and a stereo display driving circuit 4 via a line 9 to stop the oscillation and the stereo display. In the FM automatic reproduction, the presence of the 19kHz component in an FM signal is detected and at the monaural receiving mode, the voltage +B is applied automatically in the stereo demodulation switching oscillation circuit and the stereo display driving circuit 4 to stop the oscillation and the stereo display. Thus, the voltage +B is applied to the line 9 at all times except the stereo receiving mode. The voltage +B is applied to a base of a transistor(TR) 8a of a sound image correction display stop circuit 8 to conduct the TR8a, the output of the sound image correcting circuit 6 inputted to the collector is grounded from the emitter, the input of the sound image correction diplay circuit 7 is interrupted, and the display is stopped at any state except the stereo receiving mode. |
