PURPOSE:To prevent any overheating of a battery which might be caused by a large current flowing from a battery due to abnormality in an electric circuit or a battery-charging part by providing a means of detecting the temperature of the battery, and cutting it off from the electric circuit and the battery-charging part when the temperature becomes over a given level. CONSTITUTION:When a battery 3 has a normal temperature, the foot of a bimetal switch 4 is moved in the direction indicated by the arrow (A) in the figure and touches bimetal contacts 7 and 7' causing them to be connected, and the battery 3 and an electronic apparatus body 1' conduct with each other making an electronic apparatus 1 usable. When the temperature of the battery 3 becomes unusually high due to a large current flowing from the battery 3 due to some cause such as a short circuit of an electric circuit 5, the bimetal switch 4 detects the unusually high temperature through a battery case 6, force in the direction indicated by the arrow (B) in the figure is exerted upon the foot of the bimetal switch 4 causing it to move close to the battery case 6, and separating it from the contacts 7 and 7'. As a result, since the conduction between the contacts 7 and 7' is cut off, current ceases to flow from the battery 3, and the temperature of the battery 3 decreases. |
