PURPOSE:To form a yellow developing layer high in sensitivity, low in fog density, and superior in graininess by incorporating a specified yellow coupler in at least one of photosensitive silver halide emulsion layers and a specified compound in a hydrophilic colloidal layer. CONSTITUTION:At least one of the photosensitive silver halide emulsion layers formed on a support contains at least one of the yellow couplers represented by formula I in which each of R<1>-R<3> is H, halogen, or the like; each of R<4>-R<7> is H, alkyl, or the like; w is halogen or the like; and X is H or the like. At least one of hydrophilic colloidal layers constituting the photosensitive material contains at least one of the compounds represented by formula II and III in which Q is S, N, or the like; X is an electron attractive grup; Y is an aliphatic group; each of Z<1> and Z<2> is a nonmetallic atomic group; and each of Y<1> and Y<2> is H or a substituent. The benzoyl type yellow developing coupler of formula I is added in an amount not especially limited, but, e.g., preferably, in an amount of 0.01-0.5mol% of mol of photosensitive silver halide contained in the emulsion layer. |
