PURPOSE:To detect a position of a moving body extending over a wide range, by diverging an irradiating light from a light emitting source, and expanding a photodetecting range of a corner cube provided on the moving body. CONSTITUTION:A convex lens 8 is installed as a means for diverging a light, in front of a light emitting source 1. That is, light from the light emitting source 1 is diverged by the convex lens 8, and irradiates the whole range where a moving body 2 moves. Subsequently, a corner cube 3 provided on the moving body 2 receives this irradiating light a', and emits a reflected light b' in the exact opposite direction against the incident direction. This reflected light b' is formed an image on a two-dimensional position detector 6 through a half mirror 4 and a converging lens 5. In this way, since the photodetecting range of the corner cube is expanded, a position of the moving body can be detected extending over a wide range. |
