Clamping device for clamping a model on which a dental prosthesis is mounted while being machined by means of a micro machine tool. The clamping device comprises at least two sections which can be moved relative to one another in a plane, at least one section having two clamping faces for gripping the foot of the model. These two clamping faces form an acute angle with respect to the said plane and are positioned substantially symmetrically with respect to said plane. Providing the clamping device with a number of oblique stop faces (check faces) in a two-by-two symmetric arrangement with respect to the plane, which correspond to the clamping faces of the foot of the model, results in effective, reproducible and accurate clamping.
