The invention relates to a weighing apparatus, provided with a support frame and a weighing frame which is provided with means for supporting a load to be weighed. The weighing frame is linked to the support frame so as to be moveable in the height direction, and at least one weighing sensor is fitted between the weighing frame and the support frame for the purpose of determining the weight of a load to be weighed. Apart from that link between the support frame and the weighing frame which is effected by the weighing sensor, the only other way the weighing frame is linked to, and guided with respect to, the support frame is by at least one resilient steel strip situated in a plane which extends at least virtually perpendicular to the intended direction of movement between support frame and weighing frame and which by one end is clamped to the support frame and by its other end to the weighing frame. <IMAGE>
