<p>PURPOSE:To prepare a novel antibiotic substance OM-674 having low toxicity and effective mainly to Gram-negative bacteria, by culturing microorganisms belonging to Streptomyces genus. CONSTITUTION:A microbial strain belonging to Streptomyces genus and capable of producing an antibiotic substance OM-674, e.g. Streptomyces sp. OM-674 strain (FERM-P No.6510), is inoculated in a medium, and cultured at 20-40 deg.C for 1-8 days under aerobic condition. The novel antibiotic substance OM-674 is separated from the culture liquid and microbial cells.</p> |
