PURPOSE:To enable the amount of paper feed to be adjusted by making variable a contact area between a driving roller and paper while forming with an elastic member the roller of a paper feeding device where the paper is sent while being put between the driving roller and a pressure roller. CONSTITUTION:Both the driving roller 21 and pressure roller 22 of a paper feeding device are made of an elastic member such as rubber. In this paper feeding device, the tensile force of a sp]ring 27 changes depending on the tightening position of a bolt 24, so that a contact area between the driving roller 21 and recording paper 8 changes because of the contact force change of the pressure roller 22. In a state, for example, where the bolt 24 is tightened to some extent, the contact force of the roller 22 decreases to form a contact face shown by A-B. Further, in a state where the bolt 24 is loosened, a contact face shown by C-D is formed. Increasing the contact area in this way is equivalent to making the radius R of the roller 21 larger, so that the amount of paper feed increases as the contact area increases. |
