PURPOSE:To obtain a light recording medium, wherein a recording layer comprising a light absorbing pigment which has a melting point that is less than a specified temperature is provided on a substrate, the recording layer is deformed by recording light irradiation, recording is performed by the formation of pits which can be erased by heat and the like, and erasing and rewriting can be performed. CONSTITUTION:A light absorbing pigment whose melting point is 140 deg.C or less (50-130 deg.C is recommended), (e.g. solvent blue 2, C.I.42563B) is dissolved in a solvent, and applied and dried on a substrate (e.g. various glass and the like). Thus a recording layer (ordinary thickness is about 0.01-5mum) is formed. A reflecting layer or a reflecting transparent layer, a protecting layer, and the like are provided as required, and an intended light recording medium is obtained. EFFECT:Writing sensitivity and an S/N ratio of reading are very high, erasing performance is improved, degradation in erasing and degradation in regeneration are little, and raw shelf life and record shelf life are high. |
