PURPOSE:To largely improve cooling efficiency of a rotary electric machine by providing auxiliary blades having good thermal conductivity at the back side of main blade, intaking high temperature air in the machine by the rotation of the auxiliary blades and thermally exchanging with cooling air which passes through the main blade side. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of auxiliary blades 15 made of a material having similar thermal conductivity to a main blade 4A are mounted at the back surface side of the main blade 4A and hence at the rotor 10 side of a core plate 4B, and contained in a recess 17 formed at an end bracket 2. Inner and outer vent holes 16A, 16B are formed at the part which is opposed to the auxiliary blade 15 of the end bracket 2. This blade 15 removes the heat of high temperature air intaken from the space 14, the heat is transmitted to the core plate 4B of a cooling fan 4 and the blade 4A, and then efficiently transmitted to the main air stream which is intaken via the blade 4A. In this manner the cooling capacity can be largely improved. |
