GUIDE D'ONDES SEMI-RIGIDE

A strip of aluminium (1) has a corrugated (2) cross section and is wound to form a rectangular cross section guide about the lengthways axis (00'). The cross section has a radius of half the depth (b) of the guide. The edges of the strip are hooked and crimped (4) to avoid a solder join to the next section of strip. The two ends of the guide are terminated by flanges (7) which can be aluminium or of another metal. Aluminium flanges may be welded to the guide while other metal live flanges comprise double flanges which clamp the ends of the guide. A flexible sealing cover is applied over the guide. The semiflexible guide may be coupled directly to rigid guide sections to form bends or T joins without intermediate flange connections.
