PURPOSE:To reduce the action of corrosion in an anode grid as well as to aim at lengthening a span of service life, by covering the whole body and/or part of a cathode terminal plate or part of another cathode terminal plate otherwise, with thermoplastic resins. CONSTITUTION:In order to cover a cathode plate with fluorocarbon resin, there are four methods that first; a grid is passed through a heat roller or a furnace at high speed so as not to cause it to be fused whereby a resin film is formed on the cathode plate upon heat treatment after being impregnated in a fluorocarbon resin dispersion, and dried, second; after mixed paste with the dispersion of fluorocarbon resin is filled in the grid, drying and heat treatment at high speed take place, third; fluorocarbon resin powder or a resin fiber is stuck to a chemically converted cathode plate, then dried and processed with heat treatment and finally the fluorocarbon resin is formed, and fourth; fluorocarbon resin powder or a resin fiber is mixed in the paste and filled in the grid, then dried and processed with heat treatment at high speed. A battery using these cathode plates reduces the area of each cathode plate pertaining to gas absorption, and an increase in a working current is checked even if trickle charge subject to a long period of time takes place, thus a span of service life in a battery can be lengthened ever so longer. |
