PURPOSE:To decrease a consumption rate of a copper wire and also improve a machining speed under a low consumption machining condition, by using an organic compound, with element proportion of hydrogen 1.4 or less and oxygen 0.5 or less to carbon 1 and unsoluble with water further with the specific gravity not less than 1.02, as the machining fluid. CONSTITUTION:Water is filled in a machining tank and machining fluid is supplied in a gap from a hole drilled to an electrode or a work, then electric discharge machining is performed. Diethyl phthalate has element proportion of 1.7 hydrogen and 0.33 oxygen to 1 carbon and with 1.117 specific gravity, and this machining fluid is used, if steel is machined by a copper electrode under a low consumption machining condition, carbon adheres to an electrode surface, and an excellent electrode consumption rate about a half the consumption rate in an organic compound aqueous solution is obtained. Further a machining speed can be also improved to about 1.3 times under a condition of equal peak current value. |
