The title compds. I [A=phenyl, p-hydroxyphenyl, 1,4-cyclohexadienyl; B=H, Na, C1-C4 alkylamine; R1=H, CH3, Cl, methoxy, -CH2Y; Y=s-tetrazole, triazole, thiadiazole; R2 =H, methoxy were prepd. by acylation of III with II. Thus, 1.6g D-2-amino-3-N-methylcarbamoyl propionic acidHCl salt in 16mL water were neutralized and 5mL THF was added. The mixt. was reacted with 2.5g o-nitrophenylsulfonyl chloride at 5-10≦̸C for 2 hrs. PH was adjusted to 8.0 during the reaction and 10 mL water was added. This soln. was filtered and the resulting soln. was washed, extd, and dehydrated to give 2.8g D-2-(o-nitrosulfonylamido)-3-N-methylcarbamoyl propionic acid.
