The fixing belt for electrodes used in electrotherapy is made of an elasticated cloth on which are fixed a number of equally spaced rings held in position by rivets. There is a hook at either end of the band also held in position by rivets. The rivets are insulated by a special varnish. The belt is placed around the area to be treated such as the torso, shoulder, arm, forearm, thigh, calf or ankle, one hook being placed in the ring which gives a sufficient tightness. The surplus belt is held in position by the other hook and an appropriate ring. The electrode plates are then placed between the belt and the skin of the patient. When treatment is complete the belt is unhooked to free the electrodes.
|
