<p>Magazines (13,12) for coins of different values (31,30) form a pre-payment cash box assembly in which a counter signals authorisation for issue of stamp booklets. If underpayment is made the coins enter the fork of ratchet assemblies (9,10). The coins pivot the ratchets to disengage them from arrestors (14,15). This increases travel of a cranked arm connected to the ratchet pivot shaft. The arm operates a lever against spring action and the lever displaces a trap to allow the coins to fall into a return chute to the customer. When the arm returns to the initial position buttons (29) on the ratchets contact the prepayment box to ensure the ratchets return to their proper positions.</p> |
