PURPOSE:To obtain a toner which has good fixability at a low temp. as well and has high resistance to blocking, offset, etc., by dipping a toner for fixing with a heat roll contg. a COOH group-contg. polymer as a main binder resin in an aq. basic soln. thereby treating the surface thereof. CONSTITUTION:A toner contg. a COOH-contg. polymer such as a copolymer of COOH-contg. monomer such as (meth)acrylic acid or the like as a main binder resin is prepd. Such toner is dipped for about 10hr in an aq. basic soln. (up to about 12pH) of ammoniac water, NaOH, KOH, etc., and is then neutralized in an aq. HCl soln., whereafter the toner is filtered, rinsed and dried to neutralize the COOH on and near the surface and to cross-link with the metals, thereby reforming the surface. The aggragation of toner particles is thus eliminated, the offset phenonmenon on a developing roll or the like is eliminated, and always the sharp picture image free from fogs is obtd. |
