PURPOSE:To enable to lessen the waste consumption of an ink film, by feeding a paper and the ink film individually to a recording position and in the absence of a recording data retreating the pressing member which contacts the paper and the ink film. CONSTITUTION:The control microprocessor of a facsimile, etc. checks whether the data of a picture element to be recorded exists on a recording line or not and if it is the blank which has not the recording data, the platen roll 12 which is a pressing member is retreated by an electromagnetic actuator 17 and a paper is sent by the carrying rolls 29, 30, however, because a tension is added to an ink film 11 by braking with the rolls 23, 24 and a pad 25, the ink film 11 and the paper are separated and the ink film 11 does not move. When the data of the picture element exists, the ink film 11 and the paper are pressed to a thermal head 1 by the platen roll 12. Accordingly, the waste consumption of the ink film in a thermal transfer recording can be lessened. |
