PURPOSE:To control the temp. of fibrous products to be treated adequately and to accomplish plasma treatment efficiently in the stage of subjecting the fibrous products, etc. to the low temp. plasma treatment, by passing a heating or cooling fluid through the earth electrode in a treatment chamber. CONSTITUTION:Fabrics such as woven, knitted or non-woven fabrics or fibrous products such as cords and carpets are treated by low temp. plasma without using water and chemicals to remove water repellent dirt, shives and specks and to improve the permeability of dye liquid owing to imparted hydrophilicity. The fibrous product 2 such as fabric in this case is passed continuously in a reaction chamber 1 and a gas such as air or oxygen is supplied into the chamber from a gas nozzle 9 in the upper part. A high frequency voltage is impressed between a wire net-like electrode 7 and a pipe-like earth electrode 8 to generate low temp. plasma, by which the fabric is treated. A cooling or heating fluid is passed in the electrode 8 in this stage to control the temp. of the fabric 2 to the temp. adequate for the low temp. plasma treatment, whereby the above-mentioned treatment is accomplished effectively without spoiling the quality of the fabric. |
