PURPOSE:To damp vibration, by providing a car speed detector having an oil hydraulic output, which increases in proportion to a car speed, and sliding a direct coupling mechanism little by little for a peak value of torque change in a low speed range with the large torque change. CONSTITUTION:A fluid type converter, direct coupling mechanism 30 located between input output members 10, 18 of this torque converter and mechanically engaging the converter by hydraulic power, power source hydraulic pump 46, car speed detecting mechanism 84 electrically detecting a car speed, and an electromagnetic selecting means 62 located between the pump 46 and the mechanism 30 and selectively controlling engagement pressure of the direct coupling mechanism in at least two stages in accordance with an electric signal from the mechanism 84, are equipped. Engagement force of said mechanism 30 is weakened in a car speed range with large engine vibration, consequently a desired effect can be obtained. |
