PURPOSE:To obtain an orderly finished article without any staggering of pattern, by a method wherein a large size cloth is cut into tape form, and then patterns are provided by a transfer paper or the like, when producing a bias tape provided with patterns. CONSTITUTION:A large size non-patterned cloth woven with warp and weft is cut along lines skewly intersecting both the warp and the weft to obtain a tape base 3. On theother hand, a pattern 6 is printed in a reversed condition on a paper 5 by using an ink comprising a dye 4 capable of dyeing the cloth when being heated, thereby obtaining a tape form transfer paper 7. The transfer paper 7 is laminated on the surface of the tape base 3, and the resultant laminate is fed by heating and pressing by a plurality of rollers 8 to dye the pattern 6 onto the surface of the tape base 3. Then, the tape base 3 is provided with folded selvages at both sides thereof and is cut to a predetermined length to obtain a bias cloth tape. |
