Fine yarns with approximately double numbers are prepared through consecutive processes, such as softening, tension, and humidification. Acryl-spun yarns are softened at a temp. near the glass transition state and are stretched to double length in the range of marginal elongation. In thermal stretching, supplementary twisting is conducted to complement the reduced number of twists. After stretching, the yarns are treated with humidification, relaxing to a nearly tension-less state.
