PURPOSE:To facilitate an easy change of design from a single type of a sheet of recording medium to a dual type of two sheets, by providing the recording media on both sides of a substrate and therefore reducing the thickness of a magnetic disk device. CONSTITUTION:Recording media 71a and 71b are arranged on both sides of a substrate 72a respectively, and these madia are driven by a motor 73a. Head carriages 74a and 74b are set on one side of the substrate 72a, and at the same time motors 75a and 75b are provided to the substrate 72a to shift the carriages. In addition, the 1st and 2nd heads which move together with the head carriages are constituted with a pair of magnetic heads consisting of button heads 76a and 76b and gimbal heads 77a and 77b respective ly. Furthermore a holding member, etc. of the recording medium can be loaded and unloaded to the substrate 72a. |
