A DC disc generator for converting rotation energy into direct current, and a DC disc motor for converting direct current into rotation energy. The generator/motor consists essentially of a generator core/motor core and a coil which is arranged around the core, the core or coil respectively moving (rotating) relative to the coil or core respectively. The generator core/motor core consists of disc-like rings (always termed discs in the description), which are separated by ferromagnetic material. The discs consist of a plurality of separate conductors lying from the inside to the outside so that, in the case of the generator, different charges can be picked off on the inside and outside, and, in the case of the motor, different poles can be applied on the inside and outside. The magnetic field is generated around the generator core/motor core by means of a coil which is part of a closed circuit whose power source in the case of the generator is in turn the current induced in the discs of the generator core. In the case of the motor, the power source (e.g. battery) is, of course, applied from outside. <IMAGE>
