A method of producing shaped parts which are made of fibrous nonwoven materials containing synthetic resin, are provided with a structured ornamental layer and in which the fibrous nonwoven material treated with the synthetic resin is subjected to a compression moulding operation with the application of pressure and heat, wherein, to facilitate and achieve a less expensive production method, the ornamental film is placed, as yet smooth and unstructured, in a compression mould together with the fibrous nonwoven material treated with synthetic resin and they are then compressed jointly, the ornamental film being structured corresponding to the shaped surface of the compression tool and, at the same time, being joined fixedly to the hardening fibrous nonwoven material. <IMAGE>
