The headlamp fitting has a reflector assembly on adjustable mountings inside a housing. To ensure accurate location of the threaded adjuster (14) it is held against an open profile thread (17) by a spring clip (25). The clip guides the adjuster into mesh with the thread and secures the setting against vibration. The U-shaped clip is metal while the open profile thread is plastic. One section of the clip aligns against the flange under which the thread is located while the other section lies along the fastener. The fastener end of the clip has a groove to locate on the fastener. ADVANTAGE - Simple fitting, covers mfg. tolerances.
