To summarise, it may be stated that this is a very simple and expedient design. The closed measuring chamber simulates, in principle, the braking system usual in motor vehicles since in the latter the water in the braking fluid also results in the formation of vapour bubbles. Substantial changes in pressure and volume are the result. In the present test instrument, this change in volume is detected by a pressure sensor (pressure switch). The simple design of the instrument is of critical importance. Various conditions have to be fulfilled in order to actually create the prerequisite for a simple, perfect and easily implemented design. The conditions are as follows: 1. simple filling, 2. precise metering of the brake fluid (volume), 3. simple closure, 4. problem-free opening after terminating the measuring operation, 5. the pressure produced in the measuring chamber as a result of the test operation must be capable of being let down in a simple way. These conditions are all achieved in a simple way by the present invention.
