PURPOSE:To automatically put pages in order without providing an inversion path for excessive paper and to easily check a conveyance path for paper by providing a transfer position on the upstream side of a photosensitive drum and transferring a toner image to the reverse surface of paper. CONSTITUTION:The photosensitive drum 1 rotates as shown by an arrow (a), and the peripheral surface part is charged electrostatically and uniformly by an electrostatic charging electrode 2 and scanned with a light beam projected by an exposure optical system 3 to form an electrostatic latent image, which is developed by a developing device 4 with toner. Paper 8 fed from a paper feed cassette 9 is charged electrostatically from the reverse side by a transfer electrode 5 to transfer the toner image on the photosensitive drum 1 to the upper side and the paper is fed to a fixing device 10 to fix the toner image by heat-fixing, and then discharged with the upper side down onto a paper discharge tray 12. At the time of the trouble such as a paper jam occurs, the transfer electrode 5, paper feed cassette 9, etc., are moved out of a housing 11 integrally and the conveyance path for the paper 8 is exposed and checked.
