In a switching device for outputting output pulses, the on- and off-time of which is different, there is a first clock pulse generator (1) having a first frequency, a second clock pulse generator (2) having a second frequency and a common divider (3). Furthermore, a switch-over device controlled by the output signal (S1) of the divider (3) is provided, with the aid of which clock pulses from the first clock pulse generator (1) can be supplied in one half period, and clock pulses from the second clock pulse generator (2) can be supplied in the other half period to the divider (3). In this manner, long and greatly different on- and off-times can be achieved. <IMAGE>
