PURPOSE:To edit a data by a Chinese character printer which is capable of following even if a printing speed is increased, by inserting an FIFO buffer between a character font memory and a line buffer, and editing a data by use of said buffer. CONSTITUTION:A first-in first-out FIFO buffer 35 is inserted between a character font memory 32 and a line buffer 33. A microprocessor 31 inhibits an output of the buffer 35 first of all. Subsequently, a dummy data is written in the buffer 35. Also, the output of the buffer 35 is enabled through an FIFO control register 36. Subsequently, the processor 31 transfers a printing data to the buffer 33 from the memory 32. Thereafter, contents of an even bit stored in the memory 32 are stacked in the buffer 35. According to such a structure, a data image of the buffer 33, which is edited by the buffer 35 is printed directly to the printer head. In ths way, data edited and stored in the buffer 33 is transferred by one line to the printer. |
