PURPOSE:To position a head with high accuracy by using the plate spring of the supporting part of a swing type head arm, suppressing the torsional deforming of the plate spring, and making use only of the bending deforming for moving the head. CONSTITUTION:The head arm 6 is supported rotatably at its one end by the fixing part 8 on the base 11 side of the disk device via the plate spring 7. A steel belt 9 to apply a driving force to the head arm 6 is fixed at its both ends on the head arm 6'' side, but the belt 9's body is wound alpha-times around the rotary shaft 10 of a torc motor. The tip of the head arm 6 is made of different member 6', and its lower surface is made parallel with the flat part 12 of the base 11 with a small clearance of 0.1mm kept between. The head is moved by the rocking motion of the head arm 6 around the plate spring which is the center of said motion driven by the rotating torc motor. A plate spring 7 is blocked of its tendency to incline by the steel belt 9, hence the head is accurately positioned by its bending deforming.
