PURPOSE:To perform dock entry and exit works using no towing wire rope except a tug boat by providing a travelling body sucking the shell plating for towing and a travelling body pressing a roller to the shell plating for moving on the upper section of both side walls of a dock. CONSTITUTION:A travelling body 4 equipped with an expandable suction board 3 absorbing a vessel 32 and a travelling body 6 equipped with an expandable roller 5 pressed to the vessel 32 are provided on the upper section of individual side walls 2 on both sides of a dock 1, and individual travelling bodies 4, 6 can move horizontally along the side walls 2. When the wind is blowing from the port of the vessel 32, the vessel 32 is introduced into the dock 1 by a tug boat 33 on the starboard, and the suction board 3 of the travelling body 4 absorbs the shell plating on the port to pull it into the dock 1. Next, the roller 5 of the travelling body 6 on the leeward side is pressed on the shell plating on the starbaord and the lateral load applied to the vessel 32 is accepted by the travelling bodies 46 and the tug boat 33 to pull the vessel into the dock 1. When 2/3 of the vessel have entered into the dock 1, the traelling body 4 on the leeward side absorbs the shell plating of the stern starboard for towing, and the tug boat 33 applies a brake to halt. |
