PURPOSE:To protect conveyance rolls thermally and effectively by providing heat insulating materials near the conveyance rolls for a high temp. steel material and further providing heat insulating materials having a clearance to introduce the scale, etc. falling from the steel material downward between the heat insulating materials. CONSTITUTION:The heat insulating cover of rolls 4 for conveying a high temp. steel material 3 is constituted of flat-plate like heat insulating materials 1, 2 to protect the rolls 4 thermally. The materials 1, 2 are disposed at a specified angle alpha to the vertical line so that the scale falling from the material 3 slips down along the same without depositing thereon. The materials 1, 2 (2a) are of the construction wherein ceramic fibers 7 and a ceramic sheet 8 are superposed on, for example, a sheath iron plate 6, and the surface thereof is covered with a meshed belt 9 made of stainless steel. |
