PURPOSE:To make it possible to save power without spoiling pleasantness by a method wherein the temperature of the air conditioner is adjusted on the base of the operation efficiency of a compressor. CONSTITUTION:A controller for the air conditioner is constituted by a microcomputer 1, an atmospheric temperature detecting circuit 2, a temperature detecting element 3, a temperature adjusting circuit 4, a temperature adjusting volume 5 and a remote controller 6. In case where ''a stop mode'' (in which the air conditioner is operated only for a short time) is selected by the remote controller 6, the air conditioner begins to operate and a compressor control relay 15 is controlled by a set value of the detecting circuit 2 and that of the adjusting circuit 4. In this case, the microcomputer 1 measures the length of the time of operation and the length of the time of stoppage of the compressor and if the former is longer, than, or equal to, the latter, the air conditioner is continued to operate. On the other hand, when the former is shorter than the latter, the set value of the adjusting circuit 4 is increased by 1 deg.C at the time of cooling operation and reduced by 1 deg.C at the time of heating operation, to thereby control the operation of the compressor. |
