(a) 10-60 wt.% based on total dispersion wt. of alkali-insoluble polymers with Tg up to 50 deg.C; and (b) 0.5-25 wt.% based on (a) of alkali-insoluble polymers of alkali-soluble synthetic addn. polymer (I). (I) comprises, in polymerized form and based on wt. (I), (1) 40-90% vinyl ester of non-addition polymerizable carboxylic acid; (2) 5-55% nitrile, 2-4C hydroxyalkyl ester or 1-8C alkyl ester of monoethylenically unsatd. carboxylic acid; and (3) 5-15% monoethylenically unsatd. carboxylic acid. Dispersion is used as a binder for light-weight coated paper articles. |
