PURPOSE:To improve generally the heat collecting efficiency of the titled water heater and to operate it economically by a method wherein hot water is introduced into a natural circulation system in which the hot water is circulated by convection between a collector and a tank and solar heat is collected. CONSTITUTION:An auxiliary tank 8 is provided at a position higher than a collector 1 and the upper part of the auxiliary tank 8 is made to communicate with the upper part of the collector 1 while the lower part of the auxiliary tank 8 is connected to a pumped water passage 3. Further, the auxiliary tank 8 and a hot water storage tank 2 are made to communicate with each other through a water passage 10 and a drive type changeover valve 12 is provided in a pipe passage 11 which connects the auxiliary tank 8 to the pumped water passage 3. In addition, a check valve 13 is provided so that pumped water is prevented from flowing back toward the pump 4 from the collector 1 through the junction of the pumped water passage 3 and the pipe passage 11. Then a full water sensor 14 provided in the auxiliary tank 8 closes the changeover valve 12 only when the pump 4 is operated in a condition in which the auxiliary pump 8 is full of water. |
