PURPOSE:To obtain a high strength low expansion alloy wire having excellent twisting characteristic and high temp. strength by drawing an alloy which consists essentially of Ni and C and contains respectively specified amt. of Cr, Mn, Si, etc. alone and >=2 kinds among the same at prescribed tensile strength then heat treating the same at a specified temp. and time. CONSTITUTION:An alloy contg. 30-45% Ni and 0.1-0.4% C as essential components, and contg. 0.4-4% Cr, Mn, Si, Nb, Mo or Co alone and <=10% total of >=2 kinds among the same is prepared. The alloy is drawn to obtain >=100kg/ mm.<2> tensil strength and is then subjected to a heat treatment for 0.5-50h at 250-400 deg.C, whereby the high strength low expansion alloy wire having remarkably improved high temp. tensile strength is obtained. |
