PURPOSE:To contrive improvement in the abrasion resisting property of the titled thin film almost without deteriorating its magnetic characteristics by a method wherein at least a kind of element of 2wt% or less selected from the group of Ru, Rh, Pd, Os, Ir and Pt is added to an Fe-0.5-2.6wt% Ni alloy thin film. CONSTITUTION:The absolute value ¦lambdas¦ of magnetostriction constant can be brought to 2X10<-6> or less having the alloy composition in wt% of 0.5-2.6% for Ni, and the remainder consisting of Fe and impurities, and also, said alloy thin film has the saturated magnetic flux density of 20kg or above. Moreover, the abrasion resisting property of the alloy thin film can be improved by adding at least a kind of element of 2wt% or less, selected from the group of Ru, Rh, Pd, Os, Ir and Pt, to the Fe-Ni alloy thin film. The characteristics of high permeability can be obtained by forming the Ni alloy thin film in a laminated structure, and also a magnetic head having the characteristics of excellent recording and reproduction by using a ferromagnetic thin film for the magnetic circuit of the magnetic head.
