PURPOSE:To prepare a novel antibiotic substance, fosfonochlorin, having activity against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, by culturing a bacterial strain belonging to Talaromyces genus or Fusarium genus. CONSTITUTION:Microbial strain belonging to Talaromyces genus or Fusarium genus and capable of producing fosfonochlorin, e.g. Talaromyces flavus SANK 15680 (FERM-P No.6534), Fusarium oxysporum SANK10182 (FERM-P No.6535), etc. is inoculated in a nutrient medium, and cultured in a liquid medium under shaking or aeration and agitation. The objective antibiotic fosfonochlorin is separated mainly from the culture liquid. |
