PURPOSE:To prevent excessive local heat generation when preheating is unnecessary, for prolonging the life of a glow plug, by preventing local overheating due to a first electrical energization, and as well by conducting such that a temperature of stable preheating may be established if starter operation is not made for a relatively long time from the time when a key switch is turned on. CONSTITUTION:The output of a comparator 15 becomes a low level when a key switch 2 is turned on, so that drive current is fed to a main relay coil 4a. Simultaneously in a subrelay circuit 10, the output voltage of a timer circuit 36 becomes a high level so that electrical current is fed to a subrelay coil 5a for holding energization until a predetermined time determined by a timer circuit 36, and thereafter energization is ceased. Heat is freely dissipated after a first turned-off of a main relay, and the temperature of the entire heating section is gently raised to a stable temperature between about 800deg. and about 850deg. by applying a voltage through a contact 5b in the subrelay 5b and a series resistor 6. Thereby, the heat concentration of a glow plug may be prevented. |
