PURPOSE:To perform plasma cutting at a low running cost without making a torch intricate by using a carbon electrode as an electrode, supplying the same at a constant speed or supplying the same by a voltage control method and using air in place of an inert gas. CONSTITUTION:A carbon electrode is used as an electrode and the work is cut by momentum of plasma in a method for cutting the work by utilizing the heat of gaseous plasma. The electrode is supplied at a constant speed or a voltage control method is incorporated and the electrode is supplied by said method. Air is used as a working gas. A large quantity of the heat generated by oxidation of steel is transmitted on the material to be cut and the cutting speed is increased. The cut groove is less inclined and has a smaller drag. The above-mentioned method is usable for cutting of mild steel as well. |
