PURPOSE:To eliminate the need of a space for mounting an adjuster and to prevent entering of muddy water by incorporating an auto-adjuster for shoe clearance, comprising an adjust screw and a nut in a cylinder body of a wheel cylinder. CONSTITUTION:When braking operation is conducted and pressure oil is introduced in a cylinder body 1 in the case where a lining of a brake shoe 21 wears away and a shoe clearance is increased more than a normal shoe clearance, a piston 2 is moved to fill up a designated gas delta corresponding to the normal shoe clearance with an adjust screw 4, a nut 5, a body 6 and a wheel 7. When piston 2 is rotated by action of a multiple thread 6a where the nut 5 is screw engaged and screwed out from the body 6 to spirally put out the screw 4. Thus, the shoe 21 is pushed out to conduct braking. After that, when braking is released, the wheel 7 is rotated by a return spring 13 to keep the designated gap between the working surface of a clutch member 10 and an engaging surface 7a of the wheel.
