摘要 PURPOSE:To provide the titled device capable of being equipped with multiple nozzles and detecting the amount of ink remained in a reservoir by such an arrangement wherein static pressure inside the ink reservoir is controlled by a specific means so that it maintains equilibrium in relation to the surface tension of ink in the nozzle holes. CONSTITUTION:A thin ink layer supply unit 300 is provided between a pressure generating chamber 104 and an ink reservoir 105 and ink is supplied uniformly to each jet channel system by capillary action. A difference in height between nozzle holes 101 and liquid level 308 becomes a difference of head H' of ink in the ink reservoir 105. Assuming that an allowable difference in head at which equilibrium is maintained between ink static pressure in the ink storage 105 and the surface tension of ink at the nozzle holes 101 so that ink is not caused to flow out the nozzle holes 101 is (h), the static pressure of ink in the ink reservoir 105 is controlled so that the difference of head H' is maintained within the range of + or -h.
