PURPOSE:To allow a transfer roll to leave a toner image carrier selectively and securely through simple constitution by permitting a lift lever mechanism which links to a driving source through a clutch to engage a lock member to hold a supporting member at the 1st position while a solenoid reduces its energy, releasing the engagement when the solenoid is turned off, and placing the clutch in a break state once detecting the supporting member being at the 1st position. CONSTITUTION:The solenoid 51 reduces its energy before copying operation, and an operating plate 47 is rotated by the force of a torsion spring 50; and a lock rod 40 is separated from a lock disk 39 and the clutch is in the break state. The clutch 45 is connected by a start signal from the control circuit of a copying machine to rotate a lift lever 35 as shown by an arrow C, rotating the supporting member 21 to the 1st position. The solenoid 51 is energized simultaneously with or right after the rotation of the lift lever 35 to rotate the operating plate 47, pressing the lock rod 40 against the outer circumference of the lock disk 39. The solenoid 51 is turned off by a copy end signal, jam signal, etc., after the copying operation. Then, the lock rod 40 is unlocked from the lock rod 41 easily. |
