PURPOSE:To fix and hold members to be fixed with a wire rod with high working efficiency and good reliability in the stage of cutting the long sized wire rod to a prescribed length, and attaching and welding the same to the members to be fixed, by attaching and joining the wire rod formed with specific dies to the members. CONSTITUTION:A long sized wire rod 6 is first placed between a forming punch 33 and a forming die 34 and is cut to a standard length with a forming blade 23 in the stage of winding the rod 6 on a glass body 50 attached to an electrode assembly 49 and welding the same in assembling an electronic gun or the like. The wire rod is bent to a U shape with the punch 33 and the die 34, whereafter the punch 33 is moved upward and the formed rod 6 is removed and is then pressed to the top surface of the body 50 so as to be bent, formed and mounted tightly along the outside circumference thereof. Both ends of the rod 6 are pressed inward with an auxiliary forming die 47 so as to be plastically deformed and while the rod is held joined to the assembly 49, a laser beam 53 is irradiated thereto to weld and fix both ends of the rod 6 to the assembly 49, whereby the assembly 49 and the body 50 are fixed by the rod 6. |
