PURPOSE:To prevent the leakage of an exhaust gas, by heating an exhaust manifold prototype to a working temperature, causing plastic deformation, and working the fitting face. CONSTITUTION:An exhaust manifold prototype 1' of a prescribed shape is manufactured by casting, this prototype 1' is fitted to a heating device in the same way as an actual machine state, and a heating gas of the same temperature as an actual exhaust gas or a higher temperature than said gas is passed through this exhaust manifold prototype 1', by which plastic deformation is caused. Subsequently, a fitting face 2 of this prototype to a cylinder head is worked so as to be a horizontal plane. In this way, even in the case of touching directly the exhaust gas of a high temperature when using it, the plastic deformation is scarcely caused. |
